Baby Shower. Save or Splurge?

Having a Baby Shower is like thefinal shin dig before the baby comes! I loved every single aspect of my Shower. It was quite small and intimate, but it was perfect for me.

Planning your Baby Shower or any event can always be stressful, but don’t let the stress wear you down and just enjoy the experience! 

I planned on always having a small celebration and didn’t want to spend so much money, when I knew Lauren would have more celebrations. Both her Naming and Christening were on a bigger scale.

So firsts things first I decided on a theme. Minnie Mouse ears and red lips! Loved the idea because I knew I was having a baby girl and she was going to be my Mini. 

I ordered some Minnie Mouse ears for my friends and family on Ebay for about 99p each. Bargain right?

My Beautiful Planners.
My decorations and games were all from Amazon at a cheaper price than getting a planner to buy them for me.

Which I put on the doors I didn’t really over decorate because I didn’t want it to look cheesy.

Then we got a few games which were good ice breakers for people who didn’t know eachother. It was good seeing my mum fill in questionaires and just interact with all my friends.

My Prizes for the games included Makeup and sweets! My mum and aunty were lifesavers I didn’t need caterers they cooked jollof rice, pepper soup, grilled turkey and chicken! 

My main focus was on the sweets, snacks and the lovely cake ofcourse!

I went to Tescos and got loads of sweets! From Millions to Strawberry Laces just to create my sweet table! My lovely cake and cupcakes were made by a church member and it was FANTASTIC!!!

My cake was amazing! Every little detail was perfect and she charged me £70 for the cake and cupcakes together!

I purchased a guest book from notonthehighstreet.com I know it wasn’t my wedding, but I really like reading memories they literally make me smile.

For my Baby Shower I wasn’t really bothered about making a gift list even though I was persuaded by my friends. You don’t actually need one. Your baby will have enough clothes to open their own boutique before their first birthday!!

Baby Shower Gift Ideas.

• Nappies. I can’t remember how many nappies I used within the first week. Epic.
• Bottles.
• Hampers including baby food, bibs muslins sudocrem, powder and teething rings.
• Breast Pump
• Breast Pads
• Nappy Sacs
• Feeding Bowls and Spoons.

My guests all got a Maybelline gift bags as a thank you for coming to celebrate.

These were not on my list, I wanted toys and clothes not realising there were more conventional things needed for Lauren after the first few months!

You don’t really need to spend so much money, hiring a hall, Dj and going all out for something that’s really intimate. I love going to parties and events but in all things cut your coat according to your size! A beautiful life is coming and you need to be financially prepared!!
